Alex Whitfield-Jones

Alex Whitfield-Jones qualified as an RLSS lifeguard in 1980. An interest in teaching shortly followed and Alex gained an ASA Teachers Certificate.
This passion and qualification lead to a position as Coach for Hong Kong Superstars.
Whilst in Hong Kong Alex also worked for The Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club, teaching riding and rehabilitation of horses.
In 1984 Alex returned to the UK to work in the family business, training race horses. She also achieved her ambition of becoming an amateur jockey. During this time Alex took a position working for Oswestry’s Disabled Swimming Club and from this point she was inspired by the benefits of rehabilitation in water.
In 1994 Alex was successfully awarded a full-time position as a Technical Instructor.
This was in the Physiotherapy Department at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Gobowen, where she is a much respected and valued member of the Physiotherapy team. Alex’s dedication to her job enabled her to achieve an NVQ Level 3 in Care Movement and Mobility. Not one to rest on her laurels, Alex also updated her teaching skills in 2004 with a City and Guilds Teaching Certificate.
Borders Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Centre is very pleased to have access to Alex’s vast experience and skills in rehabilitating patients, especially in the field of hydrotherapy. Alex is very dedicated to her role within the team and excels in facilitating patients to reach their full potential.
