Linda Pugh

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy MCSP HPC registered

Linda studied Physiotherapy in Arnhem, Holland, and graduated in 1990. After qualifying she spent several years working in private clinics in Holland, Italy and France before coming to the UK in 1996.

Her first post as a Physiotherapist in the UK was in Musculoskeletal outpatients at Evesham Community Hospital. In 1998 she started working at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Gobowen. Initially she worked as a rotational Physiotherapist and in 2001 she became a static member of the Musculoskeletal outpatient team.

In 2005 Linda started specialising in Women’s Health and over the years she improved her knowledge, skills and expertise. This was rewarded when she secured a job as Clinical Lead Women’s Health Physiotherapist at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2010 where she works closely with the uro-gynaecology and colo-rectal Consultants. She still continues to work at the RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital as well where she has a mixed caseload of uro-gynaecological and musculoskeletal patients.

As a Women’s Health Physiotherapist she has successfully treated many men and women suffering with bladder and/or bowel problems (e.g. incontinence, defaecation difficulties). She has also helped numerous women who suffer with pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain or women who experienced pain during intercourse (dyspareunia).

Linda is also a qualified acupuncturist and applies her skills regularly to patients suffering with pain problems and overactive bladder conditions.

Linda is very passionate about her work as a Women’s Health Physiotherapist and regularly organises CPD days and courses for her fellow colleagues in Shropshire and Wales.

Outside her work she is a dedicated mother of 4, she loves cycling in the evenings after work and mountain and hill walking in the weekends.
