Carwyn Davies

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy MCSP HPC registered

Carwyn graduated from the University of Salford as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2006. He secured his first post as Head Physiotherapist at The New Saints FC, a Professional football club who compete in the Welsh Premier League. This involved treating mainly the first team, but also members of the academy, as well as providing Physiotherapy cover in UEFA Champions League games.

In 2008, Carwyn went on to develop his skills further at the specialist Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Gobowen, experiencing various specialities. These included Trauma & Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, The Oswestry Pain Management Programme and Musculoskeletal Outpatients. The majority of his time has been within the Outpatient department, which is where he hopes to develop his skills and speciality further.

In October 2013, Carwyn took up a Senior Physiotherapist role in Musculoskeletal Outpatients at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. This has allowed him to progress further by securing a Clinical Specialist post in 2016, while also completing Masters Level modules and gaining qualifications in Independent Prescribing (prescribing medication for MSK conditions) at Glyndwr University, and Soft tissue and Joint Injections at Keele University. He is now undertaking a full Masters/MSc degree in Advanced Practice in Physiotherapy in Cardiff University on a part time basis.

Previously, Carwyn has provided physiotherapy cover at the ambitious Chester FC for 1 year following their recent resurrection, during which time the team gained promotion. He is now Physiotherapist at COBRA, an ambitious local Rugby club, providing advice and treatment for players in the 1st, 2nd and youth team.

Sport has always been a big part of Carwyn’s life from a very young age, football being his main passion. He is currently player/manager at Dyffryn Banw FC in the Spar Mid Wales 1 league, and also plays golf on a regular basis.
